Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1.25 cups milk
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, sliced
  • ½ cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  1. 1

Whip cold heavy cream with 1 tbsp sugar and 0.5 tsp vanilla until stiff peaks form, about 2 minutes.

  2. 2

Whisk together flour, 2 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp baking powder, and 0.25 tsp salt in a bowl.

  3. 3

In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter until smooth.

  4. 4

Pour wet into dry; fold with a spatula until just combined—small lumps are fine, don't overmix.

  5. 5

Preheat waffle iron. Oil or butter the plates lightly. Pour batter into each waffle cavity until mostly full, close, and cook until golden and crispy, 3–4 minutes per waffle.

  6. 6

Stack warm waffles on plates. Top with strawberries and a generous dollop of whipped cream. Serve immediately.
