Ingredients

  • ½ lb ground beef
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 3 tbsp whole-grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix beef, pork, onion, mustard, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, and pepper in a bowl until just combined.

  2. 2

Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers, about 90 seconds.

  3. 3

Form meat mixture into a flat patty and slide it into the skillet. Cook 7 minutes without stirring.

  4. 4

Flip the patty and cook another 6 minutes. The surface should be golden brown and meat cooked through.

  5. 5

Pour vinegar into the pan, tilting to coat the meat. Simmer 1 minute until the sauce coats the bottom.

  6. 6

Slide onto a cutting board, cut into wedges, and serve hot with the pan sauce spooned over.
