Ingredients

  • 1.5 lb bok choy, large heads, halved lengthwise
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp neutral oil
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

    Heat neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it shimmers, about 90 seconds.

    Add bok choy cut-side down and sear without moving for 3 minutes until golden brown.

    Flip and sear the other side for 2 minutes, then push to the side of the pan.

    Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the empty side, stirring for 30 seconds until fragrant.

    Pour soy sauce and sesame oil over everything, toss to coat, and cook 1 minute more.

    Serve immediately, spooning any pan sauce over the top.
