Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 6 oz dark chocolate, chopped (70% cocoa or higher)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 count large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • ½ cup chocolate sauce (warm or room temperature)

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat oven to 350°F. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment, leaving overhang on two sides.

  2. 2

Melt butter and chopped chocolate together in a bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring until glossy and fully combined.

  3. 3

Stir in sugar, then add eggs one at a time, beating vigorously after each addition until thick and pale.

  4. 4

Add vanilla, then fold in flour and cocoa powder until no streaks remain.

  5. 5

Pour batter into prepared pan, spread level, and bake 18 minutes. Center should jiggle slightly; edges set firm.

  6. 6

Cool 10 minutes, then lift from pan using parchment and cool completely on a wire rack.

  7. 7

Cut into 9 squares, stack 2–3 high on a plate, and drizzle generously with warm chocolate sauce.
