Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- ½ lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion
- 1 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 400°F. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp butter and add 1 finely chopped onion. Cook until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
- 2
Add 0.5 lb ground beef to the skillet. Season with 0.5 tsp salt and 0.25 tsp black pepper. Cook, breaking up the meat, until browned and no longer pink, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- 3
Roll out 1 sheet puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut into two rectangles. Spoon half the beef mixture onto one half of each rectangle, leaving a border.
- 4
Fold the pastry over the filling and press edges with a fork to seal. Place on a baking sheet and cut a small slit on top for steam.
- 5
Bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and puffed. Let cool for 2 minutes before serving.
