Ingredients

  • 2 steaks (6 oz each) filet mignon steaks
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cups red cabbage, shredded
  • ½ cup fried onions
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 to taste salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat the 2 filet mignon steaks dry and season both sides with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over high heat until shimmering.

  2. 2

Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, until a golden-brown crust forms. Transfer to a plate and let rest while you cook the vegetables.

  3. 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil and the 3 cups broccoli florets. Sauté over medium-high heat until bright green and crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

Warm the 2 cups shredded red cabbage in the skillet with the broccoli for 2 minutes, stirring until heated through.

  5. 5

Serve the steaks with the broccoli and red cabbage, topped with the 0.5 cup fried onions for crunch.
