Ingredients
- 8 oz fettuccine
- 4 tbsp butter
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated
- 1 whole garlic clove, minced
- 1 pinch salt and black pepper to taste

Boil salted water in a large pot. Add fettuccine and cook until al dente, ~9 minutes. Reserve 0.5 cup pasta water, then drain.

Melt butter in the same pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, ~45 seconds.

Pour in cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, ~2 minutes.

Remove from heat. Stir in Parmesan in batches until fully melted and sauce is smooth.

Add cooked pasta to the sauce and toss, adding pasta water 1 tbsp at a time if too thick.
