Ingredients

  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 whole egg
  • ¼ cup onion, finely diced
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 1 lb frozen french fries
  • ½ cup ajvar (roasted red pepper spread)

Instructions

    Mix pork, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, mustard, salt, and pepper in a bowl until just combined.

    Shape into 4 patties, each about 0.75 inches thick and 3 inches wide.

    Start fries on a sheet pan at 425°F. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering, ~60 seconds.

    Pan-fry patties 4 minutes per side without moving — they should be golden brown and cooked through.

    Check fries at the 12-minute mark and shake the pan, then return to oven for final 8 minutes until golden.
