Ingredients

- ¾ cup cornmeal
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- ¾ cup milk
- 3 cups vegetable oil for frying

Mix flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a bowl.

Pour in milk and stir until a thick, sticky dough forms — it should hold together but not be stiff.
