Ingredients

  • 12 whole oysters, fresh
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 whole lemon

Instructions

  1. 1

Shuck oysters, keeping them on the half shell. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with salt or crumpled foil to keep them steady.

  2. 2

Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook 45 seconds until fragrant, then remove from heat.

  3. 3

Stir panko, parmesan, and parsley into the garlic butter until combined.

  4. 4

Spoon about 1 tbsp of the mixture onto each oyster, pressing gently so it sticks.

  5. 5

Broil 4 inches from the heat for 5–6 minutes until the topping is golden and the edges of the oyster start to curl.

  6. 6

Squeeze fresh lemon over the oysters and serve immediately.
