Ingredients

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough sheets
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 count egg yolks
  • 5 tbsp granulated sugar, divided
  • ½ tsp vanilla bean paste or extract
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 425°F. Brush a muffin tin with melted butter.

    Stack and brush phyllo sheets with melted butter. Cut into 4-inch squares.

    Press each square into a muffin cup, letting edges flare. Bake 6 minutes until pale gold.

    Whisk milk, egg yolks, 3 tbsp sugar, vanilla, and cornstarch until smooth, no lumps.

    Pour custard into each tart shell. Sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon.

    Bake 10 minutes until custard just sets at edges but still trembles in center.
