Ingredients

  • 2 rolls Cuban bread or hoagie roll
  • ½ lb roast pork (store-bought or from deli)
  • ¼ lb sliced ham
  • 4 oz Swiss cheese
  • ½ cup dill pickle slices
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. 1

Slice each roll in half lengthwise. Spread butter lightly on both cut sides.

  2. 2

Layer roast pork and ham on the bottom half, then Swiss cheese and pickles.

  3. 3

Close each sandwich with the top half, pressing gently so the filling stays tucked.

  4. 4

Heat a skillet over medium until a drop of water sizzles on contact, ~2 minutes.

  5. 5

Place sandwiches in the hot skillet. Press firmly with a spatula for 3–4 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy.

  6. 6

Flip and press again until the other side is golden and the cheese melts, ~2 minutes. Serve hot.
