Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.75 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder

    Preheat waffle iron. Whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl.

    Whisk buttermilk, eggs, and melted butter in another bowl until smooth.

    Pour wet ingredients into dry. Stir just until combined — batter should be slightly lumpy.

    Brush waffle iron with butter. Pour batter to fill, close lid, and cook until golden and crispy, 3-4 minutes.
