Ingredients

  • 1 whole apple (firm variety like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • ¼ cup granola

Instructions

  1. 1

Core the apple, then slice it crosswise into thin rings, about 1/8-inch thick.

  2. 2

Spread peanut butter on one apple ring, then sprinkle granola on top and press another apple ring on it to form a sandwich.

  3. 3

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high until it shimmers, about 60 seconds.

  4. 4

Place the apple sandwich in the pan and cook until the underside is golden and the peanut butter softens, about 2 minutes.

  5. 5

Flip carefully and cook the other side until golden, another 90 seconds, then remove to a plate.

  6. 6

Let it cool for 1 minute before eating so the peanut butter sets slightly.
