Ingredients

  • 8 oz ahi tuna fillet, sushi-grade
  • 2 whole corn tostadas
  • 1 whole avocado, ripe
  • ½ whole lime
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (white or black)
  • ½ tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  1. 1

Pat tuna dry with paper towels. Season all sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

Heat oil in a skillet over high heat until it shimmers, about 60 seconds.

  3. 3

Sear tuna 30 seconds per side without moving—exterior should brown; center stays raw.

  4. 4

Slice avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop onto tostadas. Season with a pinch of salt.

  5. 5

Slice seared tuna into 1/4-inch strips and fan over avocado on each tostada.

  6. 6

Sprinkle sesame seeds over top, drizzle with soy sauce, squeeze lime, and serve immediately.
