- ½ cup peanuts

In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1.5 tsp baking powder. Stir in 3/4 cup milk until just combined; batter should be lumpy.

Pour batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle 1/2 cup peanuts evenly over top. Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 20-25 minutes.
