Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 6 oz dark chocolate
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup chocolate sauce

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Melt 0.5 cup butter and 6 oz dark chocolate together in a microwave or over a double boiler until smooth, about 1-2 minutes. Stir until glossy.

  3. 3

Whisk in 0.75 cup sugar and 2 eggs until well combined. The mixture should be thick and shiny.

  4. 4

Fold in 0.5 cup flour until just combined; do not overmix. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.

  5. 5

Roughly chop 0.5 cup hazelnuts and sprinkle over the batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  6. 6

Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then drizzle with 0.25 cup chocolate sauce. Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
