Ingredients

  • 14 oz silken tofu, chilled
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • ½ cup bonito flakes (katsuobushi)
  • 2 tbsp scallions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp neutral cooking oil

Instructions

    Heat oil in a small skillet over medium-high until it shimmers.

    Add minced garlic and cook until golden and fragrant, ~90 seconds, then pour oil and garlic into a small bowl.

    Whisk soy sauce and mirin together in the same bowl until combined.

    Slide chilled tofu onto a plate and pour the dipping sauce around it.

    Top the tofu with bonito flakes, crispy garlic oil, and scallions.
