Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen french fries
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the 1 lb frozen french fries according to package directions until golden and crispy, about 15-20 minutes in a 425°F oven.

  2. 2

While fries cook, fry the 4 slices bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels, then crumble into bits.

  3. 3

In a small saucepan, melt the 1 tbsp butter over medium heat. Whisk in the 1 tbsp flour and cook for 1 minute until bubbly.

  4. 4

Gradually whisk in the 0.5 cup milk and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

Remove from heat and stir in the 1 cup cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Pour sauce over hot fries and sprinkle with bacon bits.
