Ingredients

  • 1 lb asparagus spears
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 whole lemon

Instructions

  1. 1

Snap off the woody bottom third of each asparagus spear by bending gently until it breaks naturally.

Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until fully coated.

  3. 3

Heat a large skillet over high heat for 2 minutes until very hot.

  4. 4

Spread asparagus in a single layer and sear without moving for 4 minutes until tips char and bases soften.

  5. 5

Toss gently and cook 2 more minutes, shaking the pan occasionally, until spears blister.

  6. 6

Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top and serve immediately.
