Ingredients

  • 2 whole, cut into wedges limes
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 oz cachaça (or white rum)
  • 1 cup, crushed or roughly broken ice cubes
  • 4 leaves, optional fresh mint leaves

Instructions

    Divide lime wedges and sugar between two rocks glasses or tumblers.

  2. 2

    Muddle gently until limes release juice and sugar dissolves, ~30 seconds. Don't pulverize the pith.

    Fill each glass to the brim with crushed or roughly broken ice.

  4. 4

    Pour 2 oz cachaça into each glass and stir to combine, ~10 seconds.

  5. 5

    Tap a mint leaf to release oils and drop into each glass if desired. Serve immediately.
