Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 burger buns
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella
- 1 cup cherry peppers
- 4 lettuce leaves
- 1 lb frozen french fries
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 425°F. Spread the 1 lb frozen french fries on a baking sheet and bake until golden and crispy, about 25 minutes, shaking halfway.
- 2
While fries bake, divide the 1 lb ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties. Season both sides with the 1 tsp salt and 0.5 tsp black pepper.
- 3
Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking (internal temp 160°F for medium).
- 4
In the last minute of cooking, place the 4 oz sliced mozzarella on top of each patty and cover the pan to melt the cheese, about 1 minute until gooey.
- 5
Toast the 4 burger buns in the same skillet or toaster until golden, about 1-2 minutes.
- 6
Assemble burgers: place a lettuce leaf on each bottom bun, add the patty with melted mozzarella, then top with the 1 cup cherry peppers (drained if pickled). Cover with top bun.
- 7
Serve the burgers hot with the crispy fries on the side.
