Ingredients

  • 1 cup broken rice
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup fresh basil
  • 2 whole red chili peppers

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook broken rice according to package directions until fluffy, about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

In a bowl, mix ground pork with 1 tablespoon fish sauce and 1 teaspoon sugar. Let marinate 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet over medium-high. Add pork and cook, breaking up, until browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

In the same skillet, add remaining oil and fry eggs sunny-side up until whites are set and edges crispy, about 3 minutes.

  5. 5

Make dressing: combine remaining fish sauce, sugar, and 2 tablespoons water. Stir until sugar dissolves.

  6. 6

Divide rice between plates. Top with pork, fried egg, basil leaves, and sliced chilies. Drizzle with dressing.
