Ingredients

  • 4 links bratwurst
  • 2 cups sauerkraut
  • 1 medium yellow onion
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp whole grain mustard

Instructions

    Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add 4 bratwurst links and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes.

    While the bratwurst cook, thinly slice 1 medium onion. Remove the bratwurst from the skillet and set aside.

    Add the sliced onion to the skillet and cook over medium heat until soft and golden, about 4 minutes. Stir in 2 cups sauerkraut and cook until heated through, about 3 minutes.

    Return the bratwurst to the skillet, nestling them into the sauerkraut. Cook until the bratwurst are heated through and slightly charred, about 3 minutes.

    Serve the bratwurst with the sauerkraut and top each with a generous spoonful of whole grain mustard.
