Ingredients
- 4 tbsp butter
- 3 medium apples (any baking variety), cored and sliced thin
- ¾ cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375°F. Melt 2 tbsp butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat.

Toss apple slices with 0.25 cup sugar and cinnamon. Spread in the hot skillet, then increase heat to medium-high and cook 5 minutes without stirring until edges caramelize.

Whisk together flour, remaining 0.5 cup sugar, eggs, 2 tbsp melted butter, a pinch of salt, and 2 tbsp water until smooth.

Pour batter evenly over the apples. Transfer skillet to the oven and bake until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean, about 10 minutes.
