Ingredients

  • ¾ cup dried hibiscus flowers (jamaica)
  • 4 cups water
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

    Bring water to a boil in a kettle or pot, then pour over hibiscus flowers in a large pitcher.

    Let steep for 5 minutes until the liquid turns deep crimson and flowers have released their tartness.

    Strain out the flowers, pressing gently to extract all liquid; discard solids.

    Stir in sugar until dissolved, then chill for 2 minutes or pour directly over ice.

    Divide between 2 glasses, fill with ice, and serve immediately.
