Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup whole milk, warmed
- 4 tbsp butter, softened, divided
- ¼ cup almond paste
- ¾ cup mixed dried fruit (raisins, cranberries, candied peel)
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 whole egg yolk
- ¼ cup powdered sugar

Mix flour, warm milk, 2 tbsp butter, yeast, and egg yolk in a bowl until shaggy dough forms, ~2 minutes.

Knead in mixed fruit, then shape into a disc on a sheet pan. Press almond paste into the center, fold dough over, and seal.

Brush with remaining 2 tbsp melted butter. Let rise at room temperature for 10 minutes while oven preheats to 375°F.

Bake for 16–18 minutes until golden brown and a skewer inserted in the thickest part comes out clean.
