Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz (1 can) canned tomatoes, crushed by hand
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, torn

Instructions

  1. 1

Heat oil in a saucepan over medium until shimmering, about 60 seconds.

  2. 2

Add garlic and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds until fragrant—don't let it brown.

  3. 3

Pour in the crushed tomatoes with their juices and stir well.

Simmer uncovered for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens slightly.

  5. 5
