Yes. CookSnap is free to download and use. The free plan gives you ingredient scanning, up to 5 meal matches per scan, web recipe search, and more. CookSnap Pro unlocks the full experience including unlimited scans, advanced nutrition, and exclusive features.

How does the ingredient scanning work?

You point your camera at your ingredients — on the counter, in the fridge, anywhere. CookSnap's AI identifies what it sees. You review the detected ingredients, then tap 'Find Meals' to see every recipe you can make with what you have.

Are the recipes real or AI-generated?

Every recipe in CookSnap is real — sourced from our database of provider recipes, our own curated meals, and creator-submitted dishes from home cooks in our community. Nothing is fabricated on the fly.

CookSnap supports a wide range of dietary filters including vegan, vegetarian, keto, paleo, gluten-free, dairy-free, and more. Set your preferences once and every result automatically respects them.

What's the difference between Scan, Multi, and Scan Pro?

Scan mode takes a single photo. Multi mode lets you take up to 3 photos to capture more ingredients at once. Scan Pro (available on the Pro plan) lets you take up to 5 photos and scans packaged foods via barcode as well.

Does it work if I only have a few ingredients?

Absolutely. That's the whole point. Even with 3 or 4 ingredients, CookSnap finds real meals you can make — and shows you how many additional ingredients a recipe needs if you want to expand your options.

Yes. Save any meal to your library, organize them into custom folders, and access them anytime — even offline. Free users get 25 saves. Pro users get unlimited.

What is the Creator Program?

Home cooks and food creators can apply to submit their original recipes to CookSnap. Approved creators get a Verified Chef badge, CookSnap Pro for free, and attribution on every recipe — with direct links to their Instagram and TikTok.
