Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CookSnap mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by CookSnap ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using CookSnap, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use CookSnap. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using CookSnap, you represent that all information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to enter into these Terms.

To access most features of CookSnap, you must create an account. You agree to: - Provide accurate and complete information during registration - Keep your password secure and not share it with others - Notify us immediately at hi@cooksnapapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account - Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

CookSnap is an AI-powered cooking assistant that helps users discover meals based on ingredients they have, save and organize recipes, track nutrition, and participate in a cooking community. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. We will not be liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

CookSnap offers a free tier with the following limitations: - Up to 20 saved meals in My Meals - Access to core ingredient scanning and meal discovery features - Limited community participation

CookSnap Pro is a paid subscription that unlocks: - Unlimited My Meals saves - Premium avatar gear and profile customization - Advanced nutrition tracking and macro tools - Unlimited personal meal notes - Creator badge progression and identity features - Additional Pro features as they become available

- Monthly: $4.99 per month - Annual: $29.99 per year ($2.50/month) Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region. All prices are subject to change with reasonable notice.

Subscriptions are processed through Apple's in-app purchase system. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store account settings.

We may offer free trial periods for Pro. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged the applicable subscription price. Only one free trial per Apple ID.

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly. Contact Apple Support for billing issues.

"User Content" means any content you submit, post, or transmit through CookSnap, including meal submissions, community posts, profile information, photos, and meal notes. You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content to CookSnap, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and display that content in connection with operating and improving the Service.

You agree not to post User Content that: - Is false, misleading, or deceptive - Infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights - Contains personally identifiable information about others without their consent - Is obscene, offensive, harassing, or harmful - Promotes illegal activity - Contains malware, spam, or unsolicited commercial messages - Violates any applicable law or regulation

We reserve the right to review, remove, or refuse any User Content at our discretion without notice. Repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination.

Meal submissions go through a moderation process before being published to the public library. Submission does not guarantee publication. We may edit submissions for quality, formatting, or compliance with our content standards. If your submission is approved and promoted to our public library, you grant us a perpetual license to use that content as part of CookSnap's recipe library.

The Service and its original content, including but not limited to the recipe library, UI design, brand elements, and software, are owned by CookSnap and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you.

You agree not to: - Use the Service for any unlawful purpose - Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure - Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service in an automated manner - Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service - Use the Service to distribute spam or unsolicited communications - Impersonate any person or entity - Upload content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights - Manipulate ratings, reviews, or community metrics - Attempt to circumvent subscription limits or payment systems

CookSnap integrates with third-party services including Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, Spoonacular, OpenFoodFacts, OpenAI, and RevenueCat. Your use of those services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that: - The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure - Any nutritional information provided is medically accurate or suitable for your specific health needs - Meal recommendations are appropriate for any specific dietary condition or medical requirement Nutritional information is provided for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical or dietary advice.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COOKSNAP SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless CookSnap and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

You may delete your account at any time through Settings → Delete Account in the app. Account deletion permanently removes your profile, meals, posts, and all personal data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. We will attempt to notify you, but are not required to do so.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Active subscriptions will continue until the end of the current billing period but will not renew. Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of New York.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and CookSnap regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
