Ingredients
- 1 lb tuna steaks
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 1 large avocado
- ½ cup cilantro
- ½ medium red onion
- 2 whole lime
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- 1
Pat the 1 lb tuna steaks dry and season both sides with 1 tsp salt. Let sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
- 2
Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Add the tuna and sear for 1-2 minutes per side until browned outside but still pink inside. Remove and let rest.
- 3
While tuna rests, warm the 8 corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for 30 seconds per side, until soft and pliable. Wrap in a clean towel to keep warm.
- 4
Mash the 1 avocado with juice of 1 lime and a pinch of salt. Thinly slice the 0.5 red onion and chop the 0.5 cup cilantro.
- 5
Slice the rested tuna into thin strips. Divide the avocado mixture among the tortillas, top with tuna, onion, and cilantro.
- 6
Serve with remaining lime cut into wedges for squeezing over the tacos.
