Ingredients

  • 4 bags black tea bags
  • 1.5 cups hot water
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 2 cups ice

Instructions

  1. 1

Pour hot water into a pitcher. Add tea bags and let steep for 3 minutes until deeply golden.

  2. 2

Remove tea bags. Stir in sugar until completely dissolved — the heat helps it dissolve fast.

  3. 3

Pour the sweetened tea over ice in a tall glass, filling about 3/4 full.

  4. 4

Slice the lemon and squeeze one wedge into the tea, then drop the slice in as garnish.

  5. 5

Top with cold water to fill, stir once, and serve immediately.
