Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 4 sheets nori sheets
  • 8 oz sashimi-grade salmon
  • 8 oz sashimi-grade tuna
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 large avocado

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the 2 cups sushi rice according to package directions, then let it cool to room temperature. Season with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt if you have them.

  2. 2

Slice the 8 oz salmon and 8 oz tuna into thin strips. Cut the 1 cucumber and 1 avocado into similar-sized strips.

  3. 3

Place a nori sheet on a bamboo mat or clean surface. Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.

  4. 4

Arrange a few strips of salmon, tuna, cucumber, and avocado in a line across the rice. Roll tightly, using the mat to press firmly, then seal the edge with a little water.

  5. 5

Slice each roll into 6-8 pieces with a sharp knife. Serve with soy sauce for dipping and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
