Ingredients
- 8 oz fresh strawberries
- ½ cup fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups water
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 10 leaves fresh basil leaves
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- 1
Hull and halve the fresh strawberries, then place them in a blender along with 6 basil leaves and the granulated sugar. Blend on high until completely smooth, about 45 seconds, creating a bright pink puree.
- 2
Strain the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently with the back of a spoon to extract all juice while leaving pulp behind. Discard the solids.
- 3
Add the fresh lemon juice and water to the pitcher, stirring well to combine. Gently tear the remaining 4 basil leaves and add them to the pitcher for infusion, letting them sit for 1-2 minutes to release their aroma.
- 4
Fill two glasses with ice cubes and pour the lemonade evenly between them. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh basil and a strawberry slice, then serve immediately while cold and fragrant.
