Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 tbsp lemon zest
- ¼ cup lemon juice
- 2 cups strawberries
- 6 cones waffle cones

In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups heavy cream, 1 cup whole milk, and 3/4 cup sugar. Heat over medium, stirring, until sugar dissolves and mixture is warm, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and stir in 2 tbsp lemon zest and 1/4 cup lemon juice. Let cool to room temperature, then chill in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Meanwhile, hull and slice 2 cups strawberries. Mash them with a fork until chunky. Set aside.

Pour the chilled cream mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions, about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

Fold in the mashed strawberries with a spatula, creating swirls. Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze until firm, at least 4 hours.

Scoop the ice cream into 6 waffle cones and serve immediately. If cones are not available, serve in bowls.
