Ingredients

  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 4 cups water
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond milk (or milk of choice)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • ¾ cup fresh berries or sliced banana

Instructions

    Bring water to a boil in a medium pot over medium-high heat.

    Stir in steel cut oats, cinnamon, and salt. Reduce heat to medium-low.

    Simmer uncovered for 25–30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and creamy.

    Stir in almond milk and maple syrup. Cook 1 minute more until smooth.

    Divide between two bowls. Top with fresh berries or banana.
