Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough (store-bought or pre-made, ~12 oz)
  • 5 oz whole milk mozzarella
  • 3 oz hot salami (spicy pepperoni or equivalent), thinly sliced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup fresh basil (optional, torn)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

    Heat a 12-inch cast iron skillet or heavy baking sheet in a 500°F oven for 5 minutes until smoking hot.

    Stretch dough into a 10-inch round, brush lightly with olive oil on both sides.

    Carefully slide dough onto the hot pan; cook 2 minutes until the bottom is golden and starting to puff.

    Flip dough, scatter mozzarella and salami across the surface, sprinkle with red pepper flakes.

    Return to oven for 4 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are crispy.

    Slide onto a cutting board, scatter basil if using, slice and serve hot.
