Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti
- ½ lb ground beef
- ½ medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
- ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the 8 oz spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
- 2
While pasta cooks, heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the 1/2 chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves, cook until soft and fragrant, about 3 minutes.
- 3
Add the 1/2 lb ground beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4
Stir in the 1 cup crushed tomatoes. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if too thick.
- 5
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Serve hot, topped with the 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese.
