Ingredients
- 400 g spaghetti
- 100 g parmesan cheese
- 50 g butter
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add the 400g spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 2
While the pasta cooks, finely grate the 100g parmesan cheese and mince the 2 garlic cloves.
- 3
In a large skillet, melt the 50g butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute, without browning.
- 4
Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. Transfer the hot spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic butter.
- 5
Off the heat, add the grated parmesan and a splash of the reserved pasta water. Toss vigorously until the cheese melts into a creamy sauce, adding more water as needed.
- 6
Season with the 1 tsp black pepper and additional salt to taste. Serve immediately, topped with extra parmesan if desired.
