Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
Instructions
- 1
Bring 2 cups water to a boil in a small pot. Add rice and a pinch of salt, stir, then cover and reduce heat to low.
- 2
While rice cooks, pat chicken thighs dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 3
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering. Add chicken and sear 5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- 4
Push chicken to the side. Add minced garlic to the empty space and cook 30 seconds until fragrant, then pour soy sauce and brown sugar over everything.
- 5
Toss chicken to coat in the glossy sauce, cooking for 1 minute until it clings to the meat. Transfer to a plate.
- 6
Steam broccoli in the skillet with 2 tbsp water and a pinch of salt, covered, for 3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- 7
Divide rice, broccoli, and glazed chicken between bowls. Drizzle any remaining sauce over the chicken and serve hot.
