Ingredients
- ½ lb ground pork
- ¼ lb shrimp
- 12 piece shumai wrappers
- ¼ cup carrot
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp green onion
Instructions
- 1
Finely chop the 1/4 lb shrimp and 2 tbsp green onion. In a bowl, combine with the 1/2 lb ground pork, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Place 1 tbsp of filling in the center of a shumai wrapper. Gather the edges up around the filling, leaving the top open. Gently squeeze to shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- 3
Top each shumai with a few pieces of the 1/4 cup grated carrot, pressing lightly to adhere.
- 4
Arrange shumai in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each. Steam over boiling water, covered, until the pork is cooked through and the wrappers are translucent, about 8-10 minutes.
