Ingredients
- 1 lb sea scallops
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon

Pat the 1 lb scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with the 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper.

Heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over high heat until shimmering, about 2 minutes.

Place the scallops in the skillet in a single layer, leaving space between them; cook undisturbed until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
