Ingredients

  • 1 tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (8-count tube)
  • 1 lb ground pork sausage
  • 1.5 cups whole milk
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¾ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375°F. Arrange biscuits on a sheet pan and bake until golden, ~12 minutes.

  2. 2

While biscuits bake, brown sausage in a large skillet over medium-high, breaking it up with a spoon until no pink remains, ~6 minutes.

  3. 3

Sprinkle flour over sausage and stir constantly for 1 minute until no raw flour remains.

  4. 4

Pour milk slowly into the skillet while stirring—the mixture should thicken immediately and smell fragrant.

  5. 5

Add butter, salt, and black pepper. Stir until melted and creamy, about 2 minutes. The gravy should coat a spoon.

  6. 6

Split warm biscuits and top each with a generous pour of sausage gravy. Serve immediately.
