Ingredients
- 12 oz smoked sausage
- 1 loaf crusty bread
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- 1
Slice the 12 oz smoked sausage into 1/2-inch rounds. Slice the 1 medium onion thinly and mince the 2 garlic cloves.
- 2
Heat the 2 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage slices in a single layer and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- 3
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until soft and golden, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 4
Return the sausage to the skillet with the onion and garlic. Season with the 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. Stir to combine and heat through, about 2 minutes.
- 5
Slice the 1 loaf of crusty bread. Serve the sausage mixture alongside the bread, using the bread to soak up the pan juices.
