Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 lb potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • ½ cup dry white wine
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¾ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ¾ lb sea scallops (or clams in their shells)

Instructions

    Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes.

    Add potatoes and white wine. Bring to a simmer and cook until potatoes are tender, 10–12 minutes.

    Pour in cream and stir. Return to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.

    Add shrimp and scallops. Simmer gently until shrimp turns opaque and scallops are just cooked through, 3–4 minutes.

    Season to taste with salt and black pepper. Serve in bowls immediately.
