Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 2 sheets nori sheets
  • 6 pieces frozen takoyaki (octopus balls)
  • ½ cup purple cabbage
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

  1. 1

Cook the 1 cup sushi rice according to package directions, then let it cool slightly until sticky but manageable, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

Heat the 6 frozen takoyaki in a microwave or oven until hot and crispy, about 3-4 minutes, then slice each into halves.

  3. 3

Cut the 2 nori sheets into strips about 2 inches wide. Wrap each strip around a small handful of rice to form an oval or boat shape, leaving the top open.

  4. 4

Fill each rice boat with the takoyaki halves and top with the 0.5 cup shredded purple cabbage.

  5. 5

Drizzle the 2 tbsp soy sauce over the top just before serving.
