Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp matcha powder
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups flour, 2 tbsp matcha powder, and 0.5 tsp baking powder.

  3. 3

In another bowl, cream 0.5 cup softened butter and 0.75 cup sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in 1 egg until combined.

  4. 4

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined—do not overmix.

  5. 5

Scoop tablespoon-sized balls onto the prepared sheet, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are soft. Cool on the sheet for 5 minutes.
