Ingredients
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup warm water
- ½ teaspoon instant yeast
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ¾ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 quarts vegetable oil for frying
- ½ cup chopped walnuts or pistachios

Mix warm water, instant yeast, and 0.5 teaspoon sugar in a bowl. Let sit 5 minutes until foamy.

Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Pour yeast mixture and olive oil into flour and stir until a soft dough forms.

Knead dough in the bowl for 3-4 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp towel and let rest 10 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).

Using wet hands, pinch off walnut-sized pieces of dough and gently drop into hot oil. Fry in small batches, about 4-5 puffs at a time.
