Ingredients

  • 1 jar (about 16 oz) jarred or canned grape leaves, drained
  • 1 cup cooked white rice, cooled
  • ¼ cup fresh mint, chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 whole lemon (juiced + zested)
  • 3 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

Mix cooked rice with mint, dill, lemon zest, salt, and pepper until fragrant.

  2. 2

Lay a grape leaf shiny side down, place 1 tbsp rice filling at the bottom third.

  3. 3

Fold the bottom edge over the filling, tuck in the sides, roll tightly toward the tip.

  4. 4

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high until it shimmers, about 60 seconds.

  5. 5

Sear rolls seam-side down until edges just start to brown, 2–3 minutes per side.

  6. 6

Squeeze fresh lemon juice over rolls and serve hot or at room temperature.
