Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs beef short ribs (bone-in)
- 6 whole garlic cloves
- 3 tbsp butter
- ½ cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 whole bay leaf

Pat ribs dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.

Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large heavy skillet over medium-high until foaming.

Sear ribs 2–3 minutes per side without moving until edges are deeply browned. Transfer to a plate.
